RoboSand

Sanding and milling robot

RoboSand

The sanding process done by tool-in-hand human labor can be replaced by employing an industrial robot. This will improve people’s workplaces when dusty, high-physically stressful, and boring work is done by a robot.

“RoboSand” is a robot that automates the final sanding processes of various surfaces or components. This robot and its entire control system are designed to provide flexibility and automate the sanding of wood, plastic or even metal surfaces with precision and quality.

Ability to operate on volumetric furnitures

RoboSand” is a perfect solution for sanding volumetric furniture. For the best possible sanding result, the installed control system allows selecting the best trajectories, intensity and number of recurrences even in the inner parts of furniture, which can be accessed easily. Once the task is given, the robot automatically starts the entire sanding process and continues it until it is finished. Sometimes “RoboSand” can’t properly sand the surfaces near the edges or walls, it still sands most of the area flawlessly, while significantly reducing the manual working time.

Robotic sanding will allow you to get a reproducible result every time. By handing over boring and physically demanding work to a robot, you will create better working conditions for humans. The sander will be limited to robot control and sanding completion functions.

Convenient sanding of surfaces and automatic change of sanding pads

A specially designed operating system and integrated monitoring screen precisely pictures the surface and allows the user to select the required sanding area. “RoboSand” is also able to calculate the average time of sanding pad’s suitability. Once the pad becomes unsuitable, the robot automatically changes it with the new one. This feature ensures the high performance and quality of the process.

Sanding, grinding and polishing robot for furniture and other industries

Additional milling function

The robotic cell for the grinding function can be equipped with an additional gripper and the ability to attach another tool as needed, e.g. milling spindle, drill or drum sander. In this case, the grinding robot can be additionally used for surface milling or drilling.

No complicated sanding robot training needed

No complicated robot teaching is required to determine the sanding trajectory. User-friendly software „Easy to teach” will allow the operator to start work quickly and easily.

Training a robot to sand is easy. It takes three simple steps to teach an industrial robot:
1. Demonstration – an operator holds a tool with a unique sensor mounted on it and shows the sanding path.
2. User-friendly software depicts the operator’s path and actions and makes all the processes editable on a PC screen with simple mouse clicks.
3. Run the robot – all the collected and edited information is converted into specific code – robotic language – to run the robot precisely as per the operator’s instructions.
